She felt her body slacken, and she gave off a small yawn before slowly moving to a laying position on the couch. Her mind was just about to quit, but thoughts of her being in a risky situation gave her just enough of a jolt to finish the spell she was planning on doing. She excelled at healing magic, so it was very easy for her to put a healing spell around her. It was a preventative of anything dangerous happening to her. She finished muttered to herself in the archaic language, and suddenly a very dull golden bubble fit around her. The air inside the bubble appeared to be sucked out as it started to form around her body. It appeared as a golden light that outlined her body. It was a second skin, the magic inside the little boundary enough to make it so that if someone attacked her, she would have enough time to wake up and defend herself before the magic was broken through. She was a healing witch, one who could do incantations like the preventative skin she placed over herself. But, after that, she wasn't very good at her magical abilities. Many witches excelled at battle magic, but she had never been like that. She could still conjure up things she wanted, but they were weak in comparison to the healings she did.

Demitri saw the spell that she had cast, she was smart and fairly gifted. He wondered where her powers came from, normally only pure-blooded elves could control the arcane. She did have to say the incantation so maybe she had been born from one of the "wild ones", a band of elves that had run into the forest hundreds of years ago who were supposedly incredibly gifted. He pushed the thought from his mind, it wasn't incredibly important at the moment, he needed to get her off of the couch and the kitchen. He reached down and slid his hands underneath of her, one under her upper back and one under her thighs. She was so light, and looked so peaceful as he carried her. While he was looking down at her he saw her skin sparking around where his hands were, there was a mild fire enchantment in this spell, a spell that couldn't harm him because of his lineage and near mastery of archaic fire. He carried her into his room, walked up to the bed and did something he didn't do very often. He did a levitation spell, with the spell he slowly lowered her to the bed to keep the sparks from catching the sheets on fire. Once she was on the bed he pulled the covers up over her, walked out, and went to sleep on the couch.

This whole time, the spell didn't awaken her. The magic protection didn't feel threatened, but it did warm up immensely. It was like an oven around her whenever someone touched the spell. It was meant so that people couldn't just pick her up, because if they tried it would burn them. She hadn't expected Demitri to have the abilities to get through this. She was so exhausted that the small little signatures from the magic didn't wake her. If the magic had felt threatened, it would have gave her a bigger cue if it had.
The next morning, she awoke to a different room than she had fallen asleep in. This sent a large spark of anxiety through her, and she sat up quickly, the golden light around her fading quickly now that she was up. She scrambled to her feet, a bad idea really, because she loss her vision and fell back onto the bed. She got up too quickly. She took a moment to let the blood go around, and then she stood up. She examined the room, pulling her silver hair back with an elastic band while she looked around herself. She bit down on her lip, opened a door and found herself in a bathroom. She frowned, closing the door and looking around the bedroom again. It was pretty plain for a bedroom. She opened the next door, finding the familiar kitchen. How had she ended up in the bedroom? She remembered him telling her to sleep there, but she had fallen asleep on the couch and cast a heat spell that would prevent someone from touching her. How did he get through it?

Demitri heard the door shut and turned around, Jayden had finally woken up. "Good morning, how are you feeling? You've been asleep for 18 hours." As he looked at her he could tell she was confused and also he could tell that she was hungry. "I can see that you are confused. After you fell asleep I moved you into my room, you would get a better nights sleep and I could protect you better if we were attacked. I also assume that you are confused about how I circumvented your fire enchantment, Jayden I am a pure-blooded elf magic flows through my veins and archaic fire is what I can control the best. I am making Strawberry waffles, I can see you are hungry and I won't take No for an answer."

She was bombarded with questions and information immediately, and this sen her brain reeling. She wasn't ready for this much contact in the morning. She wasn't a morning person. "Whoa, whoa, slow down," she said first, rubbing her forehead. "I've been asleep for 18 hours?" she asked, unbelieving the fact that she slept that long. She had never slept that long, but then again, she hadn't gone that long without using her magic. She moved to the counter, looking around her for a second to gain her bearings. She frowned, realizing that he immediately jumped from something serious like his heritage to strawberry waffles. "I, I guess that makes sense," she said softly, scratching her head. She looked over to the food that was being prepared, and that's when her stomach sent a jolt of hunger pain through her. "No complaints here. Do you need any help?" she asked, knowing that it was polite to offer, even if she was the world's worst cook.

"The food is almost ready, don't worry, just sit down you need to regain your energy." He had just finished a batch of the waffles, and set them in front of Jaydyn. As he looked at this exhausted woman he felt something, something that he had been afraid to feel again. He had feelings for this woman, she was stunningly beautiful, nice, and Adrianna adored her. He could also sense loneliness in her, that was something they both had in common, a want to be wanted by someone. Demitri had Adrianna, but that was not the same as having someone choose to be with, and stay with you. He hadn't dated at all since his wife was murdered, maybe it was time that he tried again, even if it didn't last forever he needed to try again.

She smiled, taking a seat at the table. "Probably a good decision. I'm the worst cook imaginable," she said softly, fiddling with the table cloth as she waited for the food. She smiled, seeing the plateful of waffles being set down in front of her. "Where is Adrianna?" she asked, noticing now that the hyper child was no where in sight. That was a little unnerving, she was something constant, the thing that had even brought here here. She swallowed, looking at the stack of the waffles on the plate. She reached forward, grabbing the two off the top and putting them on her plate.

"Adrianna went off to play with some of her friends, she's normally gone for the duration of the day and then we meet at the beach around sunset." He was still astounded by her beauty and thought for a moment of attempting to get a date, but decided against it. "Will you be staying with us today or returning to your beach house?"

She nodded, thinking back to when she was a child. Her mother wouldn't have ever let her out of the house for a complete day without checking in. She looked up then, and licked her lip. She had taken a bite of strawberry waffle and syrup had dripped on it. "Um, well I'll probably be going back," she said softly, knowing that she wouldn't want to overstay her welcome. Plus, she had a hot tub and some food in the fridge to eat. She smiled at him. "These are really good waffles. Where did you learn to cook?"

"My wife taught me when we lived in Alfsigr, next to her I look like a three year old" He watched her eat her waffles, it may sound creepy but she was so beautiful that he couldn't look away. This was also the first time he had mentioned his wife since she had died, and he hadn't broken down or even had a mood change. That was odd, but he pushed the thought from his mind he had spend enough time mourning and he was starting to move on, she would be happy.

She felt something in her drop when he mentioned his wife. Whether it was her stomach, heart, or mood, she wasn't sure. She gave a puny grin, the upturn of her mouth quickly fading. Where was his wife now? Would she be upset that she was in her house with her husband? She knew jealous women like that. She gently pushed her plate away from her, standing up. "Maybe I should go," she said quietly, picking up her plate. "Um, unless you want help cleaning up. I owe you that much," she offered.

Demitri saw her freak out a little bit at the mention of his wife, and he knew what she was thinking. "No, no, its nothing like that. My wife, was murdered a year ago, that's why I moved here. You aren't intruding on anyone's territory, you are in a completely barren area."

She swallowed a lump that had formed in her throat. She wasn't sure if she could even talk then. Something in her dropped lower, and a burst of sympathy washed over her. "I'm, I'm so sorry," she muttered, placing the plate on the counter. She had only taken about four bites. She bit down on her lip, keeping her eyes adverted from his. She felt horrible that his wife had died, and now she felt bad because she almost felt like the woman was glaring at her from the afterlife. "I, uh...Really should be going?" she said, her statement turning into a question.

He could tell that she felt bad about his predicament, but she had no need to. He desperately wanted her to stay "You can stay if you would like, I wouldn't mind. You don't need to feel bad, you are actually the only person that I have told that to. If you plan to stay, I'm sure you have questions and I will answer them truthfully, if you want to leave you are free to go I won't stop you."

She groped for something to say, her mind running without much juice. She had never had a serious relationship before, let alone a husband, so she had no idea how he felt, and that gave her an odd sense of being left out. She then realized that she had sat there, mouth agape as she had been thinking. She clenched her jaw shut and looked up at him. She didn't want to leave, but then again she couldn't get his dead wife out of her mind. She wondered if she was pretty, if she was nice, if Adrianna was her favorite thing on this earth. She finally spoke up, realizing that she still wanted to be around Demitri, but not in this house that just screamed the absence of his wife. "Um, how about we um, go out?" she asked, not realizing that her wording had sounded like an invitation for a date.

He wondered if she had just asked him out on a date or just out of the house. He didn't want to seem to eager, so he assumed the latter. He would however enjoy a date with this beautiful woman very much. He could see that she was getting more and more uncomfortable in the house so he decided that it was in fact an attempt at leaving. She did want him to go with her so that was at least a step in the direction that he wanted to go. He would let her decide what they did, that was probably the best idea. "What would you like to do? I'm up for just about anything."

She moved to the door faster than expected once she heard the understood yes in his words. She had the door open, her curly silver hair blowing back with a breeze that blew by. She turned towards him, watching him with large eyes, waiting for him to follow. She was indifferent to the activity, she just wanted out of that house that just had his wife's ghost following them around. Maybe she was just imagining things, but she swore that she heard distant whisperings now. "Um, well we are on a beach, let's find something beach-y," she suggested, wanting to go home and change. Her clothing was all matted up and not fresh since sleeping for so long in them.

Demitri saw her sprint to the door and wondered why she wanted to get out of the house so much. He would have to ask her about it later. A day at the beach with a pretty girl sounded like an incredible idea, he hadn't done anything like this in, well he couldn't remember when the last time he did this was. "That sounds like fun." He walked to her and offered her his hand.

She looked at the hand that was offered to her, and a sense of dryness spread around her. First it was her throat and her mouth that dried up first. She then felt like her brain was soaked through a straw, making it impossible to think of what to say to this man. She knew that she felt attracted to him, but even something as simple as holding his hand could throw her over the edge.
Forgetting all of this turmoil in her head, she gently pushed her hand into his. Warmth from his skin seemed to send and electrical impulse through her, a shock of some sorts. She gently bit down on the inside of her lip, and with this she gave a soft smile. With that small touch, the witch's magic seemed to bubble inside her, happy and good.

She slid her hand into his, he hadn't expected this to happen but he liked it. Her hand was soft and warm, and very comforting. Together they walked outside, it was a very warm day not hot or cold but very comfortably warm. He looked into her eyes and saw that they were much softer than they were the day before. He could see that she wanted to be with him, so he began to lead her towards the beach.
