She smiled, her face stretching up in a bright grin. "Um, well, I still haven't gotten my fill of the beach. How about we go sit by the water?" she asked gently, moving closer so that she slipped her small hand into his large hand. The warmth that his hand provided gave her a sense of home, and she gently pulled, her thin arms leading him out the back door to the beach before them. "I think this is a private part of a beach, so we shouldn't have to worry about anyone else," she said with a smile, sinking down in the sand just beyond the water's reach. She sighed, looking out at the sun reflecting from the water, her silver eyes flashing as she watched. "It's awfully pretty, isn't it?"

As she led him out to the beach he thought about how nice it would be to just sit by the beach with her away from people. Because of his work he knew how despicable people can be, but he also knew the good in people. People like this girl renewed his faith in humanity, something that is very hard to do after his experiences. He was so lost in thought that he almost missed her say "It's awfully pretty, isn't it?" and he looked across the water. So vast and clear water, lapping up onto the beach. "Yes, it really is."

Jaydyn was lost in thoughts, her knees bent up so that her elbows laid on them, her chin resting on her open palms. She just listened to the silence for a bit, closing her eyes as she listened the soft lapping of the waters rolling onto the beach. She wished that she could stay here forever. "Where are you from?" she asked softly, looking up at Demitri with a gentle smile.

He sat down next to her, where was he from, this isn't where he expected her to start. He thought about what he should say, normally he lied, but he couldn't bring himself to lie to her. "I am from the High elf capitol, very few other races will acknowledge its existence since we are supposed to be extinct. I fled from the city a while ago, so I can't say if it still exists."

She thought about that for a moment, thinking of her home town and how she had also fled from it. She looked up at him, biting her lip. "Why did you leave?" she pressed gently, scooting a tad bit closer to him. She moved her hand once more, intertwining her fingers into his, letting the water gently roll over her little toes as she stretched her legs out as far as she could.

He looked into her eyes as she slid her hand into his. "You will have to allow me to explain fully before you do anything. I left because I was convicted of my wife's murder and I escaped from jail." He stopped to allow this to sink in and waited for her to ask him to continue. Telling her this story to fast could have negative repercussions.

She thought about this for a while, watching a small crab scoot across the sand as she pondered this. He had sounded very passionate about his wife last night, and well, that left her to believe that he hadn't done the crime. She nodded, picking at a small bump on her knee. "I'm sorry to hear that, it must have been hard," she said quietly, pressing her finger to the sore that she picked open, the skin slowly forming back over.

"It was actually fairly easy, since I was set to be executed. I had to watch my wife and son murdered and then I was blamed for it, so Adrianna and I escaped and took new names. How about you, where are you from."

Jaydyn swallowed and bit down on her lip. She traced her finger in the sand, drawing little swirls around in the small granules of sand. "Well, I came from a village of witches like me. We like to live together like that ever since the Salem times. It's easy to stay hidden that way, and people don't accuse us because we are all the same there. Well, I was with my family there, and I kind of got corrupted with my powers. That's why I don't really use them much anymore. They abandoned me."

It was hard for him to imagine her becoming corrupt with her powers, she was so kind and gentle. He wondered what kind of powers her people had, he had never heard of humans with archaic powers. "What kind of powers do your people have? I've never heard of humans controlling the arcane."

She looked up at him. "We're witches. We are just as mythological as you," she said gently, bitting down on her lip once more, twirling a piece of her hair. "It really depends. I specialized in healing, but I can do the same exact magic that other witches can do, I'm just not very good at it. Some witches are exceptionally good at levitation, others in dark magic. It just really depends on the witch. We can do everything from spells to potions. Potions are one of my favorites. Anyone can do potions though if they get our spell books. You should see mine, it is bigger than an encyclopedia," she said with a small laugh, looking back out into the ocean.

These human witches must still be fairly primitive to still need spell books, this also generally means incantations are needed. Elves have magic in their blood from generations of use and now to call upon the arcane all they need to do is concentrate, and with some training can accomplish virtually anything. The sun was starting to set he needed to get going so he could observe his newest target. "I need to go fairly soon, I have to go to work soon. Would you like to meet me on the beach tomorrow afternoon?'

She had trailed off in thought, her eyes on the sinking sun. Where had the day gone by? She was pulled out of her thoughts by his invitation. "I would really enjoy that," she said softly, looking up at him, pink exploding beneath her cheeks in a very light blush.

He had a second date, this day was going wonderfully for him. It really was a shame he had to work tonight, otherwise he could spend more time with her. But he did have to work. So he stood up and brushed the sand off of his clothes.

She stood up too, brushing off the particles of sand that stuck to her like bits of sticky candy. She smiled, tucking that stray piece of hair behind her ear. "Um, so tomorrow?" she asked gently. "Here, right?"

"That sounds great, I can't wait." He really needed to get going, but he could be a little late. He moved closer and embraced her small figure in a hug.

She smiled, opening her arms and hugging his torso with her frail arms. "Thanks for spending time with me," she said softly, releasing him from the hug. She dug her toes into the sand, looking down at her feet. "Um, thanks for everything," she said very quietly. With all she could muster inside her tiny body, she reached up to the tip of her toes, and planted a quick kiss onto his scruffy cheek. Her cheeks exploded into pink, and she found herself basically skipping back to her house before he could say anything about her unexpected sign of affection.

He was left there catching up to what had just happened for a few seconds. It had been a fairly exciting day, everything included. He looked around and saw only one thing, darkness. It was time to go to work, he stopped off at home to get his cloak. He looked for Adrianna but then remembered that she was at a friends house for the night, and went out into the darkness. His target was on the outskirts of town, so far his observations had gotten him nowhere but his employer said that tonight would be the day he started getting results.

She had ran into the house, huffing and puffing with adrenaline that had came from the kiss. A gigantic smile was on her face, and she gazed over, seeing one of the butlers standing there for her to say what she wanted done. She just hopped over, grabbing his hands and swaying back and forth to a song that was in her head, her eyes closed and imagining that it was Demitri's warm hands that she was touching. The butler was grunting in an obvious reaction to the awful and sudden dance that Jay produced. She laughed, releasing the man and twirling around for a bit. "He's so sweet, don't you think?" she asked, pointing her finger at the tv. A spark of red light shoot out of the tip of her finger, the magic grabbing the tv and turning it on and changing the channel to a music channel. "Um, yes. Yes, miss," the butler coughed, expecting that was the answer she sought. Jaydyn smiled more, using more of her magic all the sudden to do what she wanted. "Is tonight the full moon?" she asked, grabbing a soda that had floated over to her. "Yes, ma'am," the man replied again. "Okay, I will be sleeping outside then," she called over to her shoulder, moving into her bedroom and putting her bathing suit on. She went back outside, wading into the pool, the bright moon shining down onto her. She sighed, laying down on a raft that kept her in the warm air opposed to the cool water.

Now it was time to see if his little experiment would work. He had snuck into this mans house earlier in the week and placed a few glass talismans around the house, on the ceiling of each room to be precise. He stood a few dozen feet away so he wouldn't look suspicious and focused on seeing through the glass. Instantly he could see inside of one of the rooms of the house, good it was working, this beat standing outside of the windows. Since he knew it worked, he went through each one until he could see the person, and his employer was correct.
